London calling . . . .

guildhall

Londons Guildhall

Suit is ready, shirt is ironed and I’ve even packed a tie. Heading off to London town on Monday to attend the WSET Diploma Graduation in London’s Guildhall. Not a shabby location at all ! :)

It promises to be a fine evening if previous years is anything to go on. Lots of the big names of the wine world attend so it will be great to meet and chat with some wine royalty.

The awards are being presented by Jancis Robinson MW so it will be great to meet her again after meeting her at the Ballymaloe LitFest in May last year where she gave an incredible talk and tasting.

Not a bad way to start a week !

Congrats, Maurice, have a great time. (Poor Bev looks very downcast altogether! ;)

Maurice, congratulations on a great achievement – and a great evening by the looks if it. Look forward to meeting up next time I am in Cork. Colm has come up with some great ideas to do a live video link from Wiston winery during one of the wine lectures for Ballymaloe students – we’ll be doing a simultaneous Sussex-Cork tasting of the wines! Take care, Dermot

Hi Dermot and thanks for your lovely comments. Yes, a great evening indeed. A proud moment. I think that live linkup is a brilliant idea and I must try to organise with Colm for me to stand in at the back of the class. Look forward to meeting again in Cork when you are over. All the best, Maurice
